What Are Product Categories?

Product categories help you organize your rental inventory into logical groups. Categories support a hierarchical structure with parent-child relationships, allowing you to create subcategories.

Category Structure

Product Category

├── name               # Category name (e.g., "Bikes", "Mountain Bikes")
├── description        # Optional description
├── image              # Category image URL
├── parent_id          # Parent category ID (for subcategories)
├── parent             # Parent category summary (when loaded)

├── product_count      # Number of products in category (incl. secondary-category members)
└── linked_types       # Other booking types this category is linked to
