Store Categories

Store categories help organize your store products into logical groups. Categories support a parent-child hierarchy, allowing you to create sub-categories for more granular organization.

Store categories are separate from rental product categories. A rental shop might have rental categories like "Bikes" and "Helmets", while the store might have categories like "Accessories", "Apparel", and "Maintenance Kits". When you do want the same category in multiple booking types, link it across them with the apply_to field.

Key Featuresโ€‹

  • Hierarchical structure -- Categories can have parent categories, creating a tree of categories and sub-categories.
  • Category images -- Each category can have an optional image for visual display in the widget.
  • Product count -- Each category includes a count of its assigned products.
  • Widget integration -- Categories appear as filters on the store widget, helping customers browse your product catalog.
  • Linked categories -- Use apply_to to link a store category with rentals and experiences categories; linked categories share name, description, and image, and the linked_types field shows existing links.
